The project stems from the desire to create a Park for Carpi as a place of identity and happiness for “the pleasures of the people”, to restore the landscape of the area south-west of the centre, based on the awareness of its historical evolution, to improve the ecosystem services of Carpi with an important operation of urban forestation.
In order to achieve these objectives, the project for the large area is based on the following: creation of a special pedestrian route connecting the new Parco Della Cappuccina with the historic centre, connection of the new Park and public and private green areas with new rows of trees to create an urban ecological network, creation of a cycle path network, reduction of asphalted areas of public spaces with the introduction of new trees, ecological improvement of the western industrial area through measures and incentives aimed at private individuals (green roofs, reduction of impermeable areas, heat island reduction, etc.), maintenance of a patchwork of green between the two western ring roads, creation of a contemporary and original Park with functions for all ages and tastes, restoration of the aqueduct tower so it becomes an exceptional vantage point to admire the entire historic centre, creation of a new space connected with the park for ateliers, co-working, emerging sports, the creation of new landmarks: the centuriation axes, historic roads, lost walls.
