The masterplan proposes the requalification e the urban reconversion of the industrial area delle Ferrere for recreational and tourist reuse of the former brick factory in Cairo Montenotte.
The disused warehouses are located in a area rich in naturalistic and landscape resources for which the proposed masterplan is enriched of an interesting offer of outdoor activities: mountain bike, trail-running and ultra-trailrunnig, hiking trails.
Nearby are the Natural area of Adelasia and a rich network of ecological corridors complete and enrich the potential of the area.
The masterplan proposes the realization of a flexible space container to accommodate the new uses connected to free time. Industry gives way to new functions related to free time, sport, well-being and sociality.
The memory of the former factory and the history men who have worked there become part of an overall project of architecture and material culture.
The reuse of buildings preserves and enhances the artefacts of greatest interest linked to the historical production bricks such as the oven, still in excellent state of conservation, or bricks still present on site to be used in the new architecture.
The external areas of the former factory are renovated radically with the creation of suitable outdoor multipurpose spaces to host the functions required by the territory.
What we offer:
• The overcoming of the industrial function
• The creation of a container for new uses
• Preservation of factory memory
• The creation of new opportunities for the area
• A green project
• 100 new trees in place of paved areas
• De-waterproofing of the area
• Energy independence from renewable sources
• Use of ecological materials to create healthy indoor confort
