The colors of Euroflora return to Genoa in the unique setting of the Parks and Museums of Nervi from April 21st to May 6th, 2018.
Euroflora is the most important among the European flower shows, recognized since its first edition in 1966 by the AIPH (International Association of Horticultural Producers) and is part of the International Flower shows Association.

Strongly desired by the Municipality of Genoa in collaboration with the Liguria Region, the Chambers of Commerce of Genoa and the Riviera, this eleventh edition returns renewed and spectacular after an absence of seven years.
For the first time it takes place outdoors and, in the European Year of the Protection of Cultural Heritage, expresses the profound link between landscape, art and literature.

The exhibition space is new as it is the first time in the Parks and Museums of Nervi with a new design and a rigorously cultural approach, respectful of the places and aimed at harmonizing the species of the existing arboreal heritage and the works exhibited in the Modern Art Gallery, the Frugone and Wolfsonian Collections, with the specimens of the participating nursery gardens, the great plant settings, the floral arrangements and the displays of cut flowers.

This edition witnessed the participation of 250 floriculturists, master florists, floral decorators and designers, among the exhibitors, with foreign presences from France, Spain, Taiwan, China and the United States.

Floriculture excellence was awarded in 240 competitions for honor, technique and aesthetics. Judges were experts in the sector and one competition, “Wonder in the parks”, was dedicated to junior and senior landscape designers which saw the participation of numerous groups, both national and international.

The fans who visited Euroflora enjoyed a unique experience in our country, in line with the new European trends.

86 thousand square meters and 5 kilometers of paths between gardens and historic villas overlooking the sea was a unique experience offered to more than 250,000 visitors and 5 days were sold out.

At Euroflora the great floral scenographies are made from art and literature.

The choice to set up Euroflora in the Parks and Museums of Nervi represents a real leap in quality for the event. The dialogue between art and nature is expressed with the floral scenographies, named for the occasion “paintings”, integrated with the installations of internationally renowned artists.

The Welcome Painting welcomes visitors: concentric circles intersected with white and blue flowers as a great embrace between the sky and the sea.

The view then opens onto the Red Wave show where long, red flames stretch out on the grass, reaching the top of the large lawn of the park of Villa Gropallo.

The first installation is dedicated to the natural element of fire. The red bloom of great visual impact, in contrast with the green background of the lawn, is a path that climbs between the colors of 14,000 red daisies.

Then our eyes rest at the edge of the Water Lily Lake.
This installation is dedicated to the natural element of water. The circle is a perfect and pure shape.

The lake of water lilies welcomes the reflection of the landscape and the sky that are reflected here, generating a sense of quiet and placid beauty. Here, 150 water lilies float in different varieties: their discreet richness is bright and fresh.

Germinations, the fourth of Euroflora’s paintings, in the large lawn of the Villa Serra park, is dedicated to the Earth. Vertical green walls for up to 300 square meters accompany the Capsica Red Light artwork by the artist Giuseppe Carta.

20 red chillies in bronze and polychrome resin, in all their bursting vitality, emerge from the Earth. The surfaces of the sculptures, of impressive naturalism, are warmly animated by protrusions and recesses, which capture the light and flood the surrounding space with fascination.

At the end, the air becomes landscape passing through the last scenographic painting set up in the lawn of the Park of Villa Grimaldi: the Great Labyrinth. This installation is dedicated to the natural element of air.
The maze cannot be seen with a single glance but invites the public to look at the sky and to dream while very tall poppies, animated by the wind, become the protagonists of a large aerial painting.

The Labyrinth develops along a 200-meter path that accompanies the visitor to discover the Bouquet de Coquelicots Suspendus (Bouquet of suspended poppies) created by Alain Micquiaux, wind sculptor.

For each scenographic painting, the poetic words of Margherita G. Sarfatti, Claude Monet, Dante, Giacomo Leopardi, Fabrizio de Andrè and Giovanni Pascoli lead the visitor towards a more aulic knowledge where the scents of nature and the colors of art are gathered together in literature.
